Without exams and tests, how do we keep track of Eagle’s work?
We equip Eagles with processes and tools that measure their effort via weekly points, excellence of work via badges, and character via 360 peer feedback. Also, there are community tools, such as Eagle Bucks and Town Hall for self-governance.
This is entirely live and transparent to the entire community. Eagles care about each other will work together, and help each other move forward. Here are few graphical reports that illustrate this:
In addition, Eagles will build their portfolio and demonstrate their work through public exhibitions.
It is a new start, but Eagles have demonstrated that they are getting used to this system. It is a steep learning curve, but the advantages are obvious—a live feedback system that continuously updates relevant information for the community. Imagine a GPS in your learning journey.
We have built all these on open source software and rooted deeply in Acton Academy’s Learning philosophy. Looking forward to the future, Eagles will be able to improve and build tools that better suit their needs.
What sort of future will that be?
