Elementary Studio (ES) Update
Prepping for Exhibition
This week, the ES Eagles started working on their final project for the Exhibition. Throughout the past few weeks, the Eagles had been experimenting with Code.org, sharing their creations and receiving feedback from their peers, and now they have more or less decided on what they’d like to present.
Virtual Museum Tour
Despite the COVID19 RMCO, the ES Eagles managed to ‘visit’ a museum. Thanks to the National Museum of Computing’s virtual tour, they enjoyed a virtual scavenger hunt while discovering fascinating facts about computers, calculators, phones and all the technology we take for granted.
The scavenger hunt challenge comprised:
- Find the Doomsday computer
- Find the archive
- Go outside (virtually)
- Find the gift shop
- Find something that you find interesting
At the debrief, the ES Eagles shared what they found interesting in the museum:
- Super Mario is old enough to be in a museum.
- Early computers were really big!
- So big that it would fill my house!
- A computer named W.I.T.C.H. weighs 2,500kg!
Looking forward to Week 5 when the ES Eagles will be creating their own site for this Sprint’s Virtual Exhibition. Do look out for the date, coming to you soon!
