Thought Process and Planning
This Exhibition, being a Cooking and Chemistry one, was meant to be a fun, delicious one where everybody could sample the Eagles’ culinary creations. Due to the current restrictions, this Exhibition had to go virtual, so the MSLP devised a plan with which everybody could still enjoy the fruits of each others’ labour.
Thus, the Super Delivery system was concocted … a food LRT system wherein the Eagles’ houses were the stations and the Guide’s car was the LRT. At station 1, the LRT picked up some food, then traveled to station 2 to deliver it. At station 2, food was also picked up to be delivered to station 3 … and so on.
The MSLP devised a survey to see what each Eagle wanted to contribute and who they’d like to have it delivered to. For some, it was the first time they had ever used a javascript code, so it was a learning experience for them. They also tackled the logistics of the system so that it would be straightforward and easy to communicate to the ES Eagles and, above all, FUN!
The Super Deliveryman (and delivery logistics co-ordinator) for the day was Mr. Jia …. thank you for your amazing efforts and giving up your precious Sunday to man the LRT!
Another challenge was how to get around the travel restrictions as the route took Mr. Jia all over town. A letter detailing the travel purpose had to be prepared by the MSLP and officiated by ActonKL.
Super Delivery Day
Sunday dawned bright and clear and the Eagle at the first pickup point was all ready with his delivery at 7.50am! The challenge for the Eagles was to organise their time to make sure their food was ready and properly packed in time for the pickup. There was little room for delay since there was only one ‘LRT train’ on the job with a very tight schedule.
Food presentation was also something to consider for the Eagles. The presentation would affect customer experience … which would in turn affect whether there would be repeat orders. Presentation also includes a description of the food and its ingredients … the more information about the food, the better informed the customer would be.
A successful service means many smiling faces! It’s safe to say that the Super Delivery Service was … a BIG SUCCESS!
